CULION SANITARIUM AND GENERAL HOSPITAL

Culion Sanitarium and General Hospital is the only general hospital in the entire Northern Palawan. The DOH Administrative Order No. 2012-0012, otherwise known as, “Rules and regulations governing the new classification of hospitals and other health facilities in the Philippines”, classified CSGH to a level 2 hospital. CSGH, despite the new mandate, continues to recognize a quality and humanitarian services to the People Affected by Leprosy. CSGH has different organized service-departments and offers quality ancillary services such as secondary level Clinical Laboratory that possesses state-of-the-art equipment which produces reliable laboratory results, a secondary Radiology Department, and a 24/7 operating Pharmacy.

In 2014, CSGH opened the private wing with four suite rooms, three private rooms, and one semi-private room with 5-bed capacity. Also in the same year, the CSGH had been certified as TB-DOTS Center and was awarded a certificate on Quality Service for its Animal Bite Treatment Center. And because of its intensified advocacy for anti-smoking law, it earned prestigious award, the Red Orchid Award, for two consecutive times.

In 2015, the CSGH has upgraded its OPD or Out-Patient Department through its departmentalized services. The physicians have their respective clinics and consultation areas within the hospital vicinity. An OR/DR Complex, situated in a newly-constructed building of CSGH, was opened and named after the late Dr. Paul A. Evangelista, former chief of the hospital. The CSGH, being the only DOH retained hospital and referral center in the Northern Palawan, has been challenged to meet the demand of its clients from its catchment areas in the quality of service delivery and affordable health care services.
